Dug this out of the wet sand and thought I might croak! Couldn't wait to get it home and find the big 14K! After cleaning it up and spending about 30 min. looking for some kind of gold mark, I gave up. What a disappointment.... Sure was pretty though!

could be unmarked ???

Could it? It needed some real cleaning. The stones are real sharp and don't show any chipping.

i would test it to be sure, since there is no chipping like on a plated ring.

There is some "pitting" on the "gold" part, but the stones seem really sharp. Is that ok?

well it would never hurt to take it to a jeweler and they can have a look at it.

I took a ring I found at low tide very much like that one to a jeweler and was surprised to find the stones were real and the setting was plated! You just never know! Have it checked. Great find :headbang: :hello2:

Remember When a ring is Sized smaller depending on where the mark is, They Might have removed that part!!! Get It Checked It sure Sparkles HH Chug

I hadn't thought of that! Here is a better picture. ;D

Yeah, get it checked! It is a beauty, for sure! Good luck!

Definitely wanna get that one checked.

Let us know. :icon_thumright:

:o Don't write off that ring yet, take it in and have it checked, please, like my hubby Chug said, when a ring is made smaller, or bigger, the marks might have been moved. That ring is gorgeous, I'd sure wear it! Keep us posted, I'd love to hear what you find out! ;D Red :hello:

P.S. Here is my "fake ring" we found this in one of our favorite parks, in an area that we had hunted plenty of times, when Chug pulled it up with the screwdriver, there was a bunch of dirt and roots growing through it. We got home that day, started cleaning the ring, next thing I know we are in a jewelry store being told it is 18 karat gold with 8 diamonds and real ruby! :tongue3:

yes, it's not uncommon for the karat stamp to get cut out or flooded with solder when a ring is sized. Often they can get sanded away when cleaning up the solder on the inside from sizing. I see it every day in my work. Lots of rings these days have the karat stamp very lightly laser etched inside and it doesn't take much at all to sand it away.

What a beauty!! Even if they are CZ, it's a beautiful ring. Definitely would not be ashamed with that find!! I'm sure my wife would already be wearing it if I had found it!! :laughing9:

I recently found a silver and a gold ring, neither had markings, both were quite old.
