It has been quite the adventure since starting my hunt through the 2 mile long median strip in San Francisco. I started this hunt back in mid September and I've been hunting it just about every weekend since. I just finished my second pass and really noticed how much the good coin targets that have thinned out. Today I put in 6 hours and dug out just 36 coins. I'm pretty confidant that 90% of the good stuff is gone. I'm sure a few silvers are still out there, It's just going to be a lot harder to find.

Today was pretty slim with the finds. 36 total coins for 6 hours work. A buffalo nickel, 3 wheaties, and a little over $3.00 in clad. My hunting partner using his XP Dues had only some clad coins, he worked the same area as I.

It was a great place while it lasted. These are the totals:

11 Mercury Dimes
3 Silver Roosevelt Dimes
1 Silver Quarter (1940's)
1 Indian Head Penny (1901)
3 Buffalo Nickels
96 Wheat Pennies
10 Sterling Silver Rings
1 10K Gold Ring
1000+ Clad Coins
100+ tokens

You are going to have to find another good spot like that one was.Have enjoyed your posts.

Perhaps with some slow cruises through the old neighborhoods, you can find another such strip . Google Maps could assist you as well. Don't ever lose hope !

I am very glad for you Chap and your machine , but I feel very sorry for your your Buddy and Deus. LOL. Good jobs guys!!!

Congratulations on the nice hunt! :occasion14:

That strip has been awesome to you- hope you latch on to more of those!

Is your buddies coil mounted with the notch forward? Looks backwards from mine. Interesting.

That was an awesome site, while it lasted. :icon_thumright: Who'd a thunk that many keepers were buried in that median strip?
