We had record snow and record runoff last winter.
We headed out to look for artifacts and whatever on
a favorite creek and didn't get far.
The high waters apparently uncovered and washed
this "almost" complete buffalo skull downstream
from wherever it has been hiding because it was on
top of the flattened by the flood prairie grass.
Close by was a very large buffalo jaw bone with
teeth intact and a piece of another smaller buffalo
skull with one horn. My buddy grabbed them.

We had only walked a hundred yards or so from the
car so I took it back and started my hike again.
There in the ditch not far from my car laid this knife.

The next day we went fishing a couple of miles downstream
from this spot and I found this 14 kt aurafin necklace with
38 tiny diamonds.

Wish I could have weekends like that all the time!

nice skull, any possible age? I found one years ago washed out of a river bank in Nebraska but it was so brittle it just shattered, definately from the 1800's. good finds!
