My birthday present to myself was going hunting......beautiful day, 67°F, light breeze and sunny. First thing I dug was a tag that said, "If found call...." A short distance (maybe 8") from there I found a key, figured they may go together. I called the number when I got home, but, they had closed for the day and won't open again until Monday. Odd that this PA tag ended up in Tyler, TX!:

Not sure if the key goes with the tag, but, will find out......have some doubts since the tag has two holes. Then I found some seriously cheap bling:

Total take for a 5 hour hunt was meager at best, especially, after I read posts from folks like Hispan!!

Glad you got out for a while, the weather is suppose to get a little rough next week.

oh, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, with lots more to follow

Bill

The heart shaped item looks to maybe be for a naval piercing....the small ball looks to be threaded, and the shaft would go through the hole in the belly button, then the ball reapplied...looks to be surgical steel...

I think you did really well there Roland! :icon_thumright:

Hispan lives in a country with thousands of years of occupational history in it. I can't believe what he finds either, but you know what, he can't sell any of his finds! He can only hold onto them and appreciate them! I'd much rather have the freedom of choice to do whatever we want with what we find in the US & Canada! :hello2:

Cheers,
Dave

Happy Birthday ! Glad to see you got out :icon_thumright: , that was my plans 2 weeks ago (27th) but we got snowed in, it's hit or missed this time of the year (up here).

Happy BDay and glad you were able to treat yourself to a pleasant hunt. May 2011 be a good year of hunting for you :icon_sunny:

Glad I took advantage of it......today was cold and tomorrow we are expecting 3" to 5" of sleet/snow accumulation. This place will be paralyzed! Nobody here (except for me) knows how to drive on snow/ice.........living in the UP during those formative 'learning how to drive years' taught me a lot! If we do get the white stuff tomorrow, it will be a front page event!

Thanks, Pirate. I can't imagine what the story is on this tag.......I really don't think the key belongs with it.

Nice finds and HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Breezie

That's a dog license

Happy b-day and congrats on the cool finds. I'm interested in hearing what the tag belongs to.

A dog license!? Sheesh, it is dated 2005, maybe I shouldn't call, the dog may have gotten lost here when they were visiting or something? Maybe it ran away from home and made it all the way to Texas (couldn't blame it for that ;D ). I will call and post the outcome! Thanks, RL.

Attn: Relic Lover.... My meager birthday finds.....

Relic Lover, You were most correct about it being a dog tag. It belonged to a female beagle named something starting with an "S." (I forgot) The gentleman I spoke with said 2005 was the last year the dog was licensed there and he figured the folks moved to this area.

A fun find, anyway!

Sweet finds!! I don't know how girls wear those belly button rings....lol
