My most recent and BEST find

yes, you're seeing this right. Yesterday, I was in Kemmerer Wyoming. I went to a Quarry that was brought together by fishdig.com. It was a fossil hunting Adventure! I was able to keep 63 fossils that I found. The picture you see is the best one.

It is 1 ft long from head to tail. Without a doubt, my best find ever.

I have 62 other specimens, but it'll take way too long to post all the pictures.

Well, that's my find!

WHOA...! Whatta Find...!
I have collected fossils, but none of complete Fish...!
My little fragments are in pale comparison...!
How long did it take to recover the fossil...?

Well, here's what happened. We split open the Rock, and we saw part of the fish. According to the people there, more of the fish was underneath the Rock. We didn't have the right tools at the time, so when I got home after the trip, I took a flat-head screwdriver and a hammer, and gently chiseled away the rock on the top layer. Eventually, the whole fish was exposed. Took me a couple of hours.

Now I'm just trying to figure out how to put the two pieces together. It cracked on the way home, so the fossil is in two pieces. Trying to figure out how to reattach them.

That's an awesome fossil. It will display well. I would be sure attaching the pieces back together are done in a way that won't affect the value but, if you're looking for something that will work, try marine epoxy. Whatever you put back together with that stuff it's permanent. Congrats again on an awesome find.

@smokeythecat, Nice to know that somebody else here went there! I was actually very lucky. Most of what I found was very small. This and two others were large, this one being the largest.

Anyway, I'm trying to figure out how to display it in my house. My house is pretty small, and I have a lot of wall space. However, this fossil is pretty heavy. I'm trying to figure out where and how to display it. I don't have much space.

To be honest, my expectations were very low when I went to Wyoming. I knew I would find at least some small fossils, and I had plans to display those, but I never had plans for something this big.

I was underprepared.
