view.jpgAfter years of working, moving and dreaming I finally purchased a home on the water where I can see my family enjoy a taste of the life I had as a child. I grew up on Mobile Bay in an area known as Shell Banks where the history was abundant and I have missed the water living since we moved away in 1985. We only moved 25 miles away but it was not the same and my childhood seemed to be over within a few days after the move. It took 30 years but it already feels like home.I am truly blessed and
God is good. :coffee2:

Fairhope is my old fishing grounds. Lots of time spent in and around there in the water or hanging out at the pier as a teenager. I worked at the Grand Hotel for a year before I went in service. There was a civil war hospital on the spot of the hotel.

birdman having spent half my life managing auto salvage yards one of my passions is collecting license plates. Here's one you might like. Found in an antique shop in Fairhope.

Now that is cool! Salvage yards were a big hobby when I was a teenager. I use to look at barracudas ,GTOs and all of the 60s and early 70s muscle cars and by todays standards most were in pretty good shape.
They are all bought up now a days or have been crushed.

I am some envious of that view.

Very nice!!!
Way to hang in there and not give up.
Good Luck!!!!
