Went out to local beach with wife and Old Betsy, beautiful day to relax and detect. When I turned on the detector it made a slight click and went dead. I started to freak out, my good detector bit the bullet. I waited a few minutes and suddenly Old Betsy started to hum. Later i got a mellow tone which was a 6.6 gr. 14kt man's gold band with 7 diamonds. A little while later I got a nice low tone which turned out to be the smallest religious medal I have ever found ( less than 1/3 the size of a dime). It was a 0.4gr. 14kt gold St. Lazarus medal, very popular with Caribbean Hispanics. I am happy my old detector is still alive
