My oldest dime find ever!

During my updated route of 11 machines (up from eight) I approached a CS and saw something small and coin-looking on the ledge. Didn't get my hopes up, having been burned by lithium batteries too many times (not literally) so I picked it up along with a couple of coins in the tray and reject chute. Lo and behold it was another jaw-dropper of a find - a 1913 Barber dime - which now becomes my oldest dime find, surpassing the 1917 Merc found on 10/4/20. Keep on searchin'!

I take you found beside a church? Or old park? In a large city? I have seen a pattern of small town guys, either searching on farms or old homesites, they find a lot more. I’m a large city guy, I like yourself found two old silver coins this year 2025, a silver dime from 1910 in August and a silver quarter from 1928 in September, I was ecstatic about both. Others in small towns are showing 200 to 250 silvers a year. I run my own race though, I do get worked up sometimes why I don’t find more, but hey it’s quality over quantity. More will come hopefully in the new year. Congratulations on your 1913 dime!

Great find! It's amazing what you spot on the shelves, out in the open. People put aside the older designs, probably thinking they're foreign coins or tokens.
