Ive been lurking here in the forums for about a month now . I finally decided to give it a try myself and ordered an ace 250.... So today i gave it a try in the yard.I did a lot of digging found some nails, some junk metal, some foil, a couple nickels, a dime, and a few pennies,Oldest was 1980 (and a lot of holes i dint find anything) but im still figuring this out. its the first time i have ever tried to metal detect. Im posting pics of the only things. The first is a tag of of something .. IT says " Rambler" and some manufacturing company. The second item got me most excited. funny thing was i didn't know i had it at fist .. i dug my hole (haven't perfect my plug yet) and i count find my item . when i tried to pinpoint again it was gone. so i filled my hole in and went on detecting.. on my next dig i noticed my digger want going into the ground very easy . and i looked at the tip It had metal around it .. at fist i thought it was a right...and that i have bent it badly (which i did bend it badly ) but upon closer review it was never a ring because its rectangular in shape .. i couldn't find any stamp or marking but it looks like its silver .. the flower if gold in color. i have no idea for sure it could be junk ... anybody have any idea?.... Could it be something from Mexico? Te people i bought the house from were from Mexico, and went to and from alot according to my neighbors....... my house was built in 1947 any way it was fun for my first day...

I believe that first item is a badge off the fork tube of a bicycle.... I seem to remember a "rambler" bike. The second item sure looks silver from the pic. Good finds! HH, Mike.

Hey Jason , Congrats on your new hobby (addiction) Yes you've found silver- and gold ! that piece is

is part of a 3 or 4 piece belt set that consisted of a buckle, a tip , and either 1 or 2 "keepers". You have the

keeper part of the set. I cant tell from the pic what the size is , if its quite small , then its probably from a

hatband. The flower is likely 14k applique on sterling silver, the style is very 1940's Mexico . Nice find !
