Discovered a new homestead today that wasn't shown on my 1872 plat book. At first I was digging alot of items that was making me think that it could have been a barn site then I started spotting broken pieces of stoneware but no glass! Was about to call it quits when I got a iffy signal going from 78 to 90 on the D2 and decided to dig it , glad that I did! Out pops the 1872 quarter. Also dug a portion of a civil war lead breast plate and a lead backed bridal rosette.

Funny thing is that ...
I've only ever found two Seated Quarters - both are 1877 S and both are in very nice condition.
But unlike yours I found mine 5 years and 20 miles apart from each other.

That’s awesome and congratulations! Your narrative said you dug an 1872 on this outing, but the photo you supplied is of an 1875. Not that it matters as any coin find from that era is phenomenal. From a numismatic standpoint, an 1872 (Philly mint) seated is quite a bit more valuable than an 1875 (obviously, condition dependent). Just FYI and you may already know this, but regardless, those are some GREAT FIND(S) my friend!!!! 👍👍

I found something similar to the breast plate the other day and thought it was part of a disc harrow.
Wow, that's a really nice pull, congrats!

I found something similar to the breast plate the other day, but thought it was a broken disk harrow. Maybe I better go look again. I’m on confederate war land. Congrats! All are very cool!

Tried to edit it but wasn't able to. Wish it would have been 1872. Thank you for pointing it out for me.
