It was a good two days at the beach. First, we were off to the races! I left the toys on a table for some kids to find. IMG_0739.webpIMG_0746.webp The kid's jewelry was cute. IMG_0749.webp

So I finally started getting the lead out!IMG_0744.webp But that was a bore, so had to get some help!

More lead, the bigger sinkers are 4 ouncers. More coins.IMG_0745.webpIMG_0747.webpIMG_0750.webpIMG_0751.webp

And of course the 14K 10.58 gram chain didn't hurt. IMG_0743.webp It doesn't appear to be broken!

I actually cleaned up the chain before posting! I hate to admit it, but I'm so wired it isn't funny!IMG_0741.webp I was following another guy. Here's his drag trail. Sideways photo sorry.

Holy Cow! Awesome Smokey! You were using Deus? What settings?

Lol what machine was he using?

I like the drag tail funny stuff nice finds

Pulling that much lead had you in the gold catching areas...

Smallfoot, the king tide threw some of the lead at least 40' from the water's edge. I tried to get the trail pic uprighted, but it's fighting me.

MetarchSC, I was using the Deus. I haven't done much wet salt in a long time, but it has paid off. I still don't particularly want to go IN the water.

I was using Deus fast, tracking balance and 74khz until yesterday. I simply used the "+" button to go to wet beach. That lowered the frequency a lot, and they apparently did something to the programming with the 5.20 upgrade, which is what I was using. Before on 4.0 the thing was chattery and had poor depth in the wet salt mode. NOT ANYMORE! My pants really did almost fall off! That lead weighs a lot, and those sinkers are expensive! I won't be buying any for awhile. I was so impressed I purchased the waterproof kit for it, in case we get some ocean tidal pools over the weekend. The king tide took off a lot of sand, and even if the storm (Dorian) is 100 miles offshore, there will be erosion (and rip tides.)

The guy I was following had an Equinox 800. He sorta missed some stuff.

Ruh ro... you followed a Nox? Urghh

Haven’t had mine on the beach yet... might have to take both after Dorian now.

BTW the guys in the water weren't doing so hot. One ring and some change reported. I don't know what kind of ring. You should hit the beach after the storm.

Nice report Smokey,
Congrats on the gold and on the use of your special Spidey sense. Perhaps you can attach it to a sandscoop for a special advantage. Tell the skeptics that is your secret method to finding gold. You've convinced me to hit the beach (maybe sunday and next week).

I'd go tomorrow again but it will be too hot. Maybe this weekend. Busy on Friday. I'm watching the weather, the ocean may be a good bet.

Besides finding the old ring in an antique dresser, all the gold I have found in 2019 has been in the last week, but it was hard going!

I'm thinking saturday will be the day to hit the ocean beach and not only because I have a prior commitment for a wedding that day. So maybe sunday and monday for me. I'll have to get an early start after seeing pics of your gold found the day before...

When I found my first gold coin it was after Sandy at the ocean. It was literally on top of the sand! I kicked it thinking it was a pull top from one of those little kids milk jugs. It didn't kick right. THEN when I picked it up I started looking for the word "copy".

THEN I sat down and cried! All those years detecting and it happens when you don't expect it! And this one was on TOP of the sand at the wash line! My Cibola spotted it the same time I did.

Meg, would you try the shipwreck beach or OC for the bling?

Good job Smokey sweet necklace glad you got that program update seems like your pretty happy with it and doing great. I can believe the Nox missed some stuff the machine that goes 2 ft down and digs its own plugs. lol I have the nox havent tried it near water yet...

A2coins, make sure you submerge your machine. I had sooo much fun, and that's what it's all about.

Way to go! Love me some gold!

Thanks all. It was a dry year (mainly due to me not going out) until this week!

Coin Beach only for me. Looking at the season pass for out of state residents at $35. If going for 4 or more days before Nov 30, the pass is cheaper than the daily $10. Have you hunted south of the inlet? Where is the access?

Meg, now I know what to do next year. I got the Sandy Point yearly pass. Haven't used it enough to pay for itself yet.

I'm closer to the beach you hunted this week than you are and enjoyed seeing your success - you went and that means you deserved it!
