Went to the local park today for my very first hunt. It takes some getting used to this new machine and trusting what it's telling me. Here's a pic of all the "treasures" I found :)

2 dimes
5 pennies
2 neat sinkers
the little silver tag reads "GI JOE"
a copper screw and a connector
and a pocketful of pulltabs and bottle caps!

It was a gorgeous day here in AZ, 67 degrees and sunny and it was a nice way to spend some time with my husband.

You're off to a good start there LBAL.
I like that tag you found. I see on the left side of your photo you have a pile of those West Virginia engagement rings too. :o ;D
Merry Christmas to you and your Hubby Seger.

just wait until you pull up your fist nice ring! youll be hooked for life! ;)

Get out while you can!!!!
Too late, huh?
You've got the treasure bug and you'll NEVER shake it.
Just sit back and enjoy the ride while you learn the craft. ;D :D

Sounds like you had a great time. Congrats and good luck learning the Ace, you'll get it down quicker than you think. Merry Christmas!

It's funny... I remember my first finds. Didn't make a difference what they were because, hey... I actually FOUND something :D It takes time, practice and patience to learn any machine but the rewards are great. I have an idea... you swing the coil and make your husband do all the digging :)

Great finds! OOooo wait til you find your first gold or silver!!!! That's when the hobby becomes the "obsession" (as my wife calls it) However, she looks at it differently now since I replaced the 1/4 carat diamond (that she lost) in her engagement ring (just before our 25th) with a high quality .65 (with my sale of gold finds). Of course, she can also wear the 14K I found with 60 diamonds (1.2 carats) or that nice little number with the ruby and 2 diamonds or the ornate one with the garnets.... :) Hee Hee, I can hunt whenever I want :)

Good luck and HH!

Joe

Welcome to the club. hope your enjoy your new addiction. :)

very nice first finds ;) your off to a good start and i notice those engagement rings on the left also ;D very nice :D congrats !

Great first time finds.

Try the Sedona area for a day trip i found an old milling ball just walking towards the hotel at the top of the hill.
Much silver mined up there.
Unfortunately i wasn`t into detecting back then, just panning.

Nice looking stuff. i like the GI Joe dog tag. Keep at it.
& Hope you have a great Christmas.

Here is a tip

Yes, the park was along the Colorado River here in AZ. The water is WAY down right now so we were where the water used to be. I am very happy to be a "finder" now.........

UUUUUHHHHHHHHHHH..... Nice fffffinds

Congrats on a first hunt and it only gets better, I've got an Ace 250 and it'll smell out the gold and silver!! Are you hunting on Yuma?

I'm originally from Boulder City just north of you. My old stompin grounds. Lot of mining in that area if your interested in prosoecting.
Great finds, hope your having fun.

Consider looking for meteorites. You're in the right area. Gold Basin, Franconia, maybe a new find.
