Went to the local park today for my very first hunt. It takes some getting used to this new machine and trusting what it's telling me. Here's a pic of all the "treasures" I found :)

2 dimes
5 pennies
2 neat sinkers
the little silver tag reads "GI JOE"
a copper screw and a connector
and a pocketful of pulltabs and bottle caps!

It was a gorgeous day here in AZ, 67 degrees and sunny and it was a nice way to spend some time with my husband.

I see how it is, when the going gets tough, the "tough" go to Arizona !!! Good luck on the digs, it's gotta be easier worknig with dry dirt than it is dealing with 16" of snow. Keep at it, and drop a line when you make it back north.

Personally if it has a VDI I never trust it however good a model it is. The only thing I trust is my ears. With my Cortes I never look at the reading but I could tell you what its likely to be & how deep it is by the sound.

Dig the iffy & faint signals :)

Happy Hunting.

Welcome to the madness! Gotta love it though! You'll be pulling goodies outta the ground in no time at all! Good luck!!

Luck Be a Lady,

While that river is down HIT IT ! ! Great opportunity to do beaches ,swimming holes or under bridges over the river. Good luck! Joe

If you find anything it is a successful hunt. I have had days with finding nothing before and I can tell you something is better than nothing. Good Job !

just wait, you'll be plucking tons of stuff out of the ground and reading books just to identify them. glad you enjoyed yourself.

good hunting in 2008

Consider looking for meteorites. You're in the right area. Gold Basin, Franconia, maybe a new find.

We have found some out here out off of Katherine Landing Road. Have photos of seger98standing in the hole with his detector :) That was a few years ago before I had one of my very own.

Where are you "lost in WI"? We stay up in the Eagle River area all summer, looking for some land in the U.P. when we get back in April....

Great finds, hope your having fun.

We were just up there last week to do some coin roll hunting. Picked up a bunch of halves and other misc. Very pretty area!

LOL :D Does that mean the value went from $1,000,000 for the one I found down to a mere $333,000 or so?? To me, it's priceless no matter what :)

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your first finds. You found some interesting things first time out.

Welcome to TN. I like the GIJoe tag too! Cool finds.

depending how old the gijoe tag is i could be pretty valueable .

the only problem is that those were made in the 60's to current date . it came with each figure (doll) eithier way you look at it .
just figured i would let you know in case you did not know .

very easy to lose thought i have many with out tags lol
