Been down in L.A. for the last seven months but had to go back home to WA for dads operation, he's doing great. But got some time to do some hunting. found two wheaties and an '84 indian head at a yard in Aberdeen, on my rounds saw an old church being remodeled so had to go to the next town Montesano to get the info on who owns it. While driving to the court house I noticed some newly poured sidewalks, so after finding out the info on the church I went tothe public works dept. to get a list of sidewalks being worked on, but was informed I was to late all but one has been covered, so I hit the one left and found one wheaty and a GOOD FOR 10 Cents, L BRO??, B&D, Montesano, WASH, That was all. So I start driving around the town, it's not that big and found a sidwalk not on my list tore up so I hit it and found the Derringer about 10" down in the black moist soil and then a ruined pocket knife.
Across the street was another little section that I pulled the Elgin Pocket Watch and the 190? V nickle. But the best was when my daughters drove up to see me later in the week, my oldest (19) liked my finds and wanted to try it, so I showed her the difference between a bad signoal and a good and said to hunt my parents front yard (Which I have hunted too many times to count and only pulled out some wheaties. house was built early 1900's), she takes five steps sweeping the coil and yells "Dad I got a good signal, come and dig it. I cut a plug pull out a handfull of dirt, run it over the coil and nothing scoop two I felt the object in my hand I figured it was another bank token, Boy was I surprised a 1914s Barber Half Dollar, I've never found a Barber in the 20+ years of hunting and she pulls out a half, Damn Im proud of her. She called me last night and told me that her and her boyfriend are getting a metal detector Fri. thats my girl. Oh yeah the churched belonged to some lawyers and I went to there office twice and was told they were busy but was assured they would call me, Yeah Right. The two tokens on the top are from banks in Aberdeen.
