Re: Explorer SE Pro

was out this morning. Nothing found to write home about.
Came home and Lay'd my Detector on the couch.

Was siting in the computer about 2PM & heard My Detector Coming on/
Shutting Down ? over & over ?

Battery Bars were full

messed with it a little, was running smooth. Shut it down and walked over to my Computer.
Detector lit up again :o

Removed my AA battery Pack

Put in Rechargeable, I just Unplugged from the wall this morning.
turned it on, it Shut down. then turned itself on & shut down.
Message on screen said something about battery Being completely dead.
Took battery out, Detector Turned on without battery ,
Message battery stone dead then Shut down again.

Put fresh AA's in and faught with it few seconds, And reset settings & shut it off.

Been off now for 4 hours, Hopefully I was wrong on it being off earlier
when I lay'd it on the couch. and that
dying Batteries caused all the Havoc. Strange on the fresh Charged
Rechargeable Though :(

Wrong time of year to Send it away.

Need to Mow Grass in the Morning, Perhaps I'll get a chance tomorrow afternoon to run My yard with it once I recover from mowing the Grass.

anyone else ever Experience this type on/off Havoc ?

New battery and factory reset. If that doesn't work...

OK, that's scary. Just glanced over at the Safari hanging on the wall. Seems to be resting peacefully.

The touch pad may need to be replaced. If you are handy with electronics, fee-bay sells a replacement from the UK. The replacement repair/replacement is in a video on youtube, seems very straight forward!

I believe your detector is possessed, or it was upset that you didn't stay out hunting longer...or the contacts are dirty or some dirt got into the battery compartment.

Jeff, it's two days later, any update?

well It is still turned off :dontknow:
I got a Suggestion my detectors Face pad may be the issue.
but
I probably won't get out with it till Monday.

Last 2 mornings been Mowing my yard May finish it tomorrow Morning or
take the Detector out instead & give my Body a rest.
We'll See :coffee2:

Rechargeable is on the Charger since the 24th too. will be able to tell if that is any good any more
Or fried

If your detector is possessed, run over it with your car or truck, repeatedly, and buy a Deus.

dude, if THAT is your worst nightmare, you have very tame nightmares

Jeff, before you pop a pump, relax. Now, hang four heads of garlic from the cable just below the box. Now lay the loop on the ground and sprinkle salt on it in a circular clockwise direction. Now place the last cross you dug in the center of the coil. Now this is the important part! Turn it on & off exactly 3 times. The forces will be aligned and the dirt gods will be appeased.

out for a Short Hunt today.
Though I found nothing to Write home about :(

As for the Ghost in the Machine.

It appears to have been Exercised & Banished.
All was good including the Rechargeable

This is the cure right here. Had the same issue with my Explorer XS, it ended up it was the membrane switch on the faceplate. AS the humidity and or heat rises the membrane expands and turns on the machine. Mine wokwe me up at 2:00am and scraed the crap out of me. Turned it off and went back to bed and 2 hours later the same thing!
I ordered the replacement faceplate from the UK (under $50) took me 20 minutes to change and the issue never reappeared.

No matter what might be wrong with our touch pad, it wont make it turn on with no batteries....
Did you let that strange boy from down the street use it? You know? Chucky?
Is it me, or can you hear the Twilight Zone theme music? While Rod Serling talks about FBS......
