This tiny button came from a cellar hole I hunted this weekend. It has a dove on it carrying an olive branch. It may be pewter as it has no rust on it. The backmark has "rich or rice" on it along with some others that I can't identify. I'm guessing mid-1800's based on other items found at that site. I can't find any info on it yet but I'm still looking. Any ideas?

Yes, thats obvious, but is it the male or the female? That's the real question. :D

Its a male African Dove recently arrived in Dublin carrying excess baggage.

The dove and olive branch is a popular religious symbol. Possibly it came off of a pastors jacket or somethinh like that.
My 2 cents worth.....
