Going through my things and thought at first this was a type of suspender buckle but further looking I don’t know and I was probably wrong .

I looked at the guts of the pocket watch and didn’t see any part that resembles it. Although I did find some pocket watch gears at same place

It kinda looks like part of the insides of an old pocket watch

or an old windup desk clock possibly. Seems a lot of old clocks that stopped working just ended up in the dump sites around where I live.
