I picked this up at the show last week. It is quite pretty and the color screamed at me. I just cant find this type of quality where I live so I bought it. I have tried to get a ID on it by books and have came up with some ideas but it is hard to say for sure. Please give your ideas on it and I will see if it matches mine. Found in Tn, Thanks rock 100_2147.webp100_2146.webp
Its 3.5 long and 2 inches wide

Looks morrow mt or a blade

I find it odd that the person you bought it from didn't know what he was selling.. or did you ask for any province? Material type, typology ..ect.?? I personally would advise you to keep anything you didn't see come from the ground or come from a trusted friend separate from the ones you know are good. Because at the end of the day you will never be sure.

I was told Pickwick but it doesnt look like that to me. I was thinking Mulbery Creek, Morrow M, or Maples. But I am not sure and there was an expert there making sure there was no repros there. He was busy when I went to ask him the name of it. The person I got it from had all types of points bought from collections and he was reselling them.

Did you ask where it came from if so, I can probably find in this book.

If Morrow Mtn. points/blades travel as far as TN, which I wouln't doubt at all, that would be the shape- short, contracting or just rounded, shallow stem. Barely there in yours. None of the other types stated so far come even close. Looks, from the pics, that it's got a bit of a curve to it. How about a side view?
Cheers!

Thanks Yak I know it is one of the 3 listed but do believe it is a Mulberry or MM. I guess I will have to flip for it. All I know is that it is really a nice point. I got about 10 different ones that day for my collection.

i would call it a Morrow Mtn knife, and i say that because of the curve to it

100_2187.webp100_2188.webpCheck out OS#12 on page 457 and 458 at the Maples it looks just like the MM. And here are some side views of it as requested.
