Name plate for unknown object

Found this at an 1800's church site. Does anyone have any idea what it might have been affixed to? Wheatie is for scale.

Good call Tony! I still can't think of where I know that name. The script even looks familiar. A pump tag sounds like a likely thing though.

Nope, it's from the civil war battleship, "The Monitor".Sweeeeeeet!! or not.

I'm late to the dance, but here's my guess anyhow. MONITOR HEATER. It's a brand name. Still being made today. Kerosene fuel.
