Got out to the river this morning at 545 a.m. with the headlamp. 1st find was a spoon, then some trinkets and the cool milk bottle sticking out of the bank. Then got a slammer 8-45 signal and out pops the black disk. 1906 barber quarter, my ugliest silver yet! 20180324_071538.webp20180324_132155.webp20180324_132128.webp20180324_133252.webp20180324_132027.webp20180324_132006.webp

Awesome save...Better than not finding any silver.

Ok...I agree, its nasty and ugly but its personality that counts! Great hunt.

Sometimes you just love ugly :)

In the picture of finds in your hand, what is that larger "token" disk to the left of the quarter?

i would give it a good home.

Hi, those are some great finds, congrats on the silver, love the old milk bottle.:icon_thumleft:

Congratualtions on the relics and coins! :occasion14:

An somewhat worn Barber quarter in hand is far better than no Barber coin at all..I really like old milk bottles also.

That thing is gnarly but it's yours! Did you also find a silver rosie? Nice going!

Sigh....its been a tough life. ;)

Looks like it may have sustained fire damage. Nice snag - even the ugly ones need love.

thanks Gary! I guess sitting in river water for the past 100 years or more will do that, especially if the river has been polluted from sulfur from the mine at least half that time LOL

Looks like it may have sustained fire damage. Nice snag - even the ugly ones need love.

thank you Steve I would take an ugly Barber over no Barber any day
