NATIVE POTTERY? ID

I found this shard in a river in Montgomery, TX where I know some native artifacts have been found. Is this Indian pottery?

I can’t say for sure, it seems awfully thick, but those inclusions do seem a bit unnaturally spaced out for a breccia and seem pottery-ish, maybe a brick of some manufacture?

I think probably not, because in that part of the country they most likely used mussel shell for temper and I don't see that. But it's one of those things it's better to actually see in person and do some research on what the local style of pottery manufacture was.

I agree with Older The Better the item is too thick. Those I have found where less than an quarter inch thick and most were small

I agree with RGINN, the expected temper is missing, although bone is sometime used in Texas.
