A women friend of mine gave me this item to see what I could find out about it .About 2ft long by 11 inches wide .
The story from her was her father was in Germany during the war and brought this back .Made out of a very soft cloth.

It may be German, but it is not a Nazi insignia-- which would "balance on one point" not be horizontal to the 'ground'
as in your item.

I see ,well glad it is not a Nazi piece .Still wondering what it is and what the value could be .Thanks a bunch for your response !!

My suggestion would be great grandfather's good luck handkerchief.

"handkerchiefs for men and women:
For men: 16" x 16", 17" x 17", 18" x 18", and 23" x 23"
For women: 6" x 6" with a lace border (bringing up finished size to
11" x 11"), 7" x 7" with a lace border (ditto), 10" x 10", 11" x 11", 12" x 12" What is standard handkerchief size?

It may just BE nAZI!!!

As we all know the Swastika has been used for many many yrs. Before the Nazis *******rized it...The Nzi swastika is NOT always canted/at an angle,Mostly the LUFFTWAFFE used the angeled swastika as did ALOT of other insiginia but here are a few that are not angled as one post said HAD to be for a Nazi insignia,Not true! They used many variations of it...HAPPY HUNTING ALL,And look deeper into those curtains,They ARE prior to 1940 if American or other,( An American div. had a swastika as their DUI the 45th. div.U.S.Army i beleive)GOOD LUCK and i'll look a little further for you.

table top runner?

lots of cloth items from dish cloths to ditty bage were similiarly decorated..
as for the other items they are
1.Political Uniform Buttons (Nazi)
2.Mothers Cross in Gold
3.Army Clasp
4.SA Belt Buckle

The cloth banner is hanging correctly, the shield shape indicates an armored unit, the black border indicates SS. They were carried on a stick holding the stick horizontal in parades, I've seen these before.
