Neanderthal Stone carved profile found! Comments?

Hello everyone. I found this in a dry run off creek bed near a garden I was working in.
There are allot of stones, mostly round river rock. Couldn't have been transported from too far away... (California, in between Santa Cruz and San Francisco).
It was the eye that caught my attention.

There are 2 more I found that day, lighting never seems to be just right to pick up details.

As usual, my photography skills are still pitiful.

I have been working on my book of "My Observations of Ancient Findings"... If anyone would like to read what I have so far, I would be honored.

Would love to hear comments as to the era this is thought to be from.

Kind of reminds me of the face on Mars.

Neanderthals in California? I don't think so.

I think it's a toss up ..that it's a carved face. Perhaps in person it's more definite.

Curious, sex rock is just a term for " just another frigging rock" ... I am sorry, but i think your imaganation is getting carried away, look at it with a mag lens, do you see any signs of man working it, mother nature forms rocks into billion of shapes, men try to form them in their minds into artifacts..

Well, for starters the Neanderthals were never present in North America, so right off the bat, you can eliminate that idea. Second, as others have pointed out, it appears to just be a "geofact" or something that looks a bit like it might have been worked, but is really just a random rock. We have an amazing capacity to see things that aren't present--our minds are programmed to look for patterns, so we see them even when they don't exist.

Yes. There are signs/appearances of 'human' type chipping on this piece, as all of the pieces I have.
These were not made in Chine yesterday, have much wear with age.
And, before "America was America"" what was it?

Honestly, it really doesn't seem to show any evidence of concerted human alteration. I can't even see a face or facial profile, unless that big triangular section on the top in image 1 is supposed to be a nose. If any native were to spend the time to create an item with no utilitarian purposes, they would be be darn sure to make it look a lot better than that. It is nothing but a naturally formed rock.

Good luck finding some arrowheads and other more obvious artifacts in that dry run and creek.
