here is my necessities list. One for the glovebox and the other for all other situation, hiking, camping, survival. This list is not conclusive, if you have other items deemed necessary or convienient feel to add to the list. Good Luck. rockhound

DAKOTA TERRITORY
Detector(s) used
Tesoro Lobo Supertraq, (95%) Garrett Scorpion (5%)
Just a few suggestions; <have most of this in my own 'oh crap' pack, for when you are too far from camp to get back and have to spend a night or two away from camp>

*A length of soft iron wire (called "tie wire" at hardware stores) very handy, at least ten or twelve feet

*Some aluminum foil, multiple possible uses

*A metal coffee can - put your goodies in it, and close it with the plastic lid that comes with them; this serves as a waterproof (sort of) container for your emergency kit, and can be used to heat water or cook in

*A few aspirins, for pain, fever or heart attack, stroke etc

*A hand full of hard candies; these will not spoil for a long time and supply quick energy

*A small mirror, handy for signaling or shaving

*A small magnifying glass - not just for fire starting, handy for finding splinters and thorns!

*If room allows, a deck of cards - or some dice, <or both> something to entertain you if you are stuck in place due to foul weather

*A small note pad and short pencil (not pen, which can dry up) for leaving notes or etc

Also a sewing kit and a manicure set would be handy to have. And a few trash bags, and zip lock sandwich and freezer bags. Good Luck. rockhound
