I just put a post on the cleaning category about this necklace. It came out of the water a dark grey color and there is a lot of marl in this lake. It is heavy and non-metalic. If you can tell me how to clean it I will post some pics afterwords. Thanks in advance!

I took very light steel wool and cleaned one of the links off and I think it is white gold. I found it with my Fishers CZ-20 but with my SE, it was drawing a similarity in the nickel range which usually means gold. This necklace is over 30" long with decent-sized links. I haven't put it on a scale yet but it should add up pretty good. If I can figure out how to clean it I will post pics today yet. Thanks!

You can pick up jewelry cleaner at most retail stores for about $5.00, just takes a little soaking and brushing to spiff it up
Nice job on the find!

I wouldn't use any more steel wool. Just a cleaner and
plastic brush.
