During the snow last weekend, walking about in part of my backyard, I spotted these tracks. The few people I showed the pics to, have no idea. I know for a fact it's not a gator...LOL! We have a very nuisance, killer red fox (wiped me out of my chickens & has gotten 4 of my guineas), a doe was spotted there the week before, what baffles me & others is the straight way of walking. Help me if you can. Thanks!

I would say that's a fox. If you can see a detailed track where there are claw marks it's probably a fox. A house cat walks in a straight line, but doesn't leave claw marks. Looking at these again, a cat walks in a straighter line than these.

Thanks, Ron! The neighbor at the end of the road does have a big house cat & has been seen in that area, but never in where the tracks are. So, now looking at house cat tracks in the snow on the www, I can see the similarity.

It could be fox, but not cat. It is something in the dog family, maybe coyote or small dog.

doe tracks look like that
if it was a fox there would be a trail where it's paws dragged the top of the snow
would not be a house cat the tracks are spaced too far apart

this picture is that of a deer walking from the top of the picture to the bottom

this is of a fox moving from bottom of picture to the top

Rumpelstiltskin. He was there to spin straw into gold.

Both deer and fox put their hind leg in their front track giving the impression they are 2 legged. This behavior is called “registering” and helps the animal conserve energy.

don't be fooled/ newborn squatch

Uhhh...Bigfoot walking with a cane. Joking. Good suggestions, but I can't tell just from pics. Looks like the tracks have melted down a little too. If the snow is deep enough, you would see where a fox's tail drug in the snow in spots too.
