Need advice on Pinpointer

"Works well" and "affordable" are subject to some pretty large interpretation. My daily driver is an MI-6, but I've used everything all the way down to a cheap little box that I think I got at Harbor Freight. They all work and get the job done, but like anything else, you largely get what you pay for.

I just ordered a new Minelab pro find 35 pinpointer, a Youtube video sold me. Minelab is a good brand so I don't mind giving it a shot. Thanks for the feedback!

Have you ever seen my Youtube swamp water real estate in FL. I have for sale?🤣
I think you're going to be pleased with the ML35 PP.
I won one awhile back and have it with me as a back up, seems to work well.

Didn't see your vid but can't go wrong with a $99.00 Minelab product. I never used a Pinpointer before but excited to try it!

The XP Mi-6 is my current favorite too.

Whatever you get attach it to yourself somewhere. I think I have a half dozen still out there somewhere on the ground

i use the 15 dollar ones on ebay. they get the job done

I try to take very good care of my detecting equipment - none of my Pin pointers were abused.
I had (5) Black Garrett pin pointers and (3) of the Orange Garrett pin pointers over the years.
Had to send two of the Black ones back to Garrett for repairs.
The on-off buttons and spring fall out of the Black ones and they both false a lot - even when ground balanced.
The 9 - volt batteries rattle around inside both - you have to pack cloth around the batteries so they don't rattle.
Sold them all.

Solved the problem - a few years ago - got two XP Mi-6 pin pointers.
The MI-6's are much better built - no more falsing and they are also rechargeable.

I've used many different pointers over the years including the ProFind 35. My first one began acting stupid so I sent it in to Minelab. They replaced it with a new one. To this day I still have that brand new pointer in the box, never used.
I ended up getting the MarsMD pointer. It's not waterproof and takes a 9V battery but that little pointer really does the trick. I still have it and use it as a spare. It has by far been with me on more hunts than any other pointer. Only rarely will it false or cause interference with my detectors.

I'm using the Nokta Acupoint now because it came with my Legend. It's rechargeable and has an actual display along with many adjustments you can make. It's a bit strange at times depending on the conditions but I like the rechargeable feature.
If MarsMD made a new pointer that was rechargeable and had adjustable sensitivity I'd buy one of those. But such doesn't exist.
