Need advice

Hello Everyone, I know it has been a while since I posted as I have had to take a break from CRH for a bit. I am not sure if this is the right forum to post in, but know that there are enough people here who can give good advice.

I was fortunate enough to be able to order a 25th anniversary set direct from the mint and got it today! Once I opened it, I saw that the "s" mint mark coin was damaged. I called customer service and they said they can't do anything other than get a refund. I want the set (so please don't send offers asking to buy it) but am kinda upset about paying full price for something damaged. I was considering buying a "s" coin on e-bay, but they are all graded. Any ideas?

not even going to bother with pics. It's not a valuable mint error, it's a scratch that was probably from production. If anyone has a set and was going to get them graded, I would like to buy the "s" (at the going graded rate) before you send it out to get slabbed.

The non-proof coins are still minted on the high speed manufacturing presses, and aren't handled by hand like a proof (or so I suspect, I hope someone corrects me if I'm wrong) so to get slight damage on non-proof S is common. Back in the days of the non-proof S minte Ikes, and the Silver Bicentennial Set it was very, very common to get a heavily scratched coin while still sealed in the blue or red envelope.
