Definitely a Gun Flint and it looks to be made from the dark English Flint. A very nice find indeed.

100% certain it's a gun flint. I've found one in the Parkersburg area and was with a guy around Parkersburg who found a 2nd one. I also found one in North Carolina. The NC example is one of my favorite artifacts. Great find.

Thanks for the info y'all This was the first piece of gun flint I've ever found and soon as i posted i got quick respones and was able to look at some more pieces, so thanks again. Y'all are awesome !!!
