Found this ring at a 1935 homesite today. It is gold plated. It has a Trojan on the side. What school is it from, and is it even a class ring?

It looks like plated pot metal .. I doubt that it was a school ring.

Does it have anything written on it? A School name? To me it looks generic. I once found a ring that was simliar to that with an Eagle on it and it only said "High School"

I think it could be a class ring. Early class rings often had only the school symbol on them. And they were not all solid gold with precious stones.

Can you/will you tell us the city and state where this ring was found?

Class rings usually have a date on them don't they? At least the dozen or so that I have handled over the years have. Having said that though, how about the North Springs Spartans? They are in Atlanta.

Class Rings are 10K Gold and would not corrode like that one is. That is costume. Class Rings also have the year, School symbol and or Letter and initials. I found one last year from 1943 and it had all the information I stated and lokked like brand new - it had been in the water since 1943.

Not all rings are solid gold-- I have one that is a cheap alloy from a school in Florida, with all the school info. They make rings so that even the poor kids can afford them (in theory). Tried to find the owner but they moved and I couldn't locate a forwarding address. And not all class rings have a date. I found a nice 10k gold one from a California high school, with emblem and school name, but no year! It has corrosion where the hoop was soldered, but the rest of it is intact. If it had a full name I'd be able to return it, but with only initials it's much harder to do without a year to confirm it.

As far as this ring goes-- even the cheap high school rings generally have a full inside band. This one looks more like a gumball ring to me.

I thought it had just corroded through myself. If not, then definitely a cheap gumball style ring.
