Need help identifying my rock

Need help identifying this rock. It's heavy it a eighs roughly 17 pounds and it is highly magnetic in a couple spots? Any info would be much appreciated..

Perhaps hematite , an iron ore... how did you come by it ?

My boyfriend found it near courdalane Idaho..it was in a pile of rocks that got removed from a farmers field. Do u think it is valuable? Or do u know where I can get more info? Thanks for answering

I have tried to break it open and it seems impossible. I dropped it on concrete and it bounced and made ping ping sort of noise??
