I found a token that is about the size of a half-dollar. I'm not sure what it's made of , may have copper in it as there is a greenish tint. It has white letters on it that say Freie on the top and Schmelternlchaft on the bottom. I have searched all over the internet and I think Freie means free in German, but the other word does not ever return a match. Any Ideas? I will try to post a pic later tonight. Found this in East Tennesse, go figure. Thanks

Before you blast me on this picture it is the best I could get. Any closer and it was even blurrier, further back and it was even lower quality if you can believe that, so at least you can see the size and color of this token. The Frire is on top and the other word is on the bottom. Sorry the photo is absolutely no help. HH

looked around and nothing found. does it have a value, or else, on the reverse?

Re: Need Help Identifying

nothing discernable on the reverse, nothing else visible on the front though the center probably had something on it at one time. I think the spelling is correct but some of the letters are weird, like old english script letters. I will try to post picture tonight, thanks for the effort, this one has me stumped. It could be a token for something free, or a game token or a gambling token I just don't know.

Could be a pay toilet token? Maybe Polish?

Yep!

Freie is "free" in german depending on how it's used with other words. In the case of a token, I believe it would absolutly mean "free".
