I'm not the expert here on NA artifacts, but I believe this is a "Full Groove Axe" that pre-dates the Woodland Era.

it looks to me to have been made not to long ago.
the top picture looks like a coprolite

Hey Steve
I know the hammer looks like it was made not to long ago but no I didn't make it.
All the previous pics I posted were of stuff a good friend of mine found over the years.
The hammer in question was found about fifteen years ago on his family farm in the Northeast part of Wyoming.
If I make it up your way this winter I'll bring it with to show you.
