found this at my grandparents house they had an old wine cellar back in the day they found it. my grandma said they took it to a historical museum back in the 80s or 90s and they wanted them to donate it. any ideas what it was used for or how old

Is the flat part copper? It looks like a soldering iron. I have one in my collection that is shaped like that.
