My friend's father passed away right before Christmas and he had a pretty large collection of items including these two round shots. He asked if I could help ID them for the family so I am reaching out for some assistance.
The iron one is about 2 in. in diameter and weighs about 24oz. I believe this would be grape or cannister shot. Possibly Civil War era, especially considering he lived in Maryland and spent a lot of time in the Gettysburg area.
The stone one is just 2 in. in diameter and weighs about 16oz. I have no idea where this one would have come from or any idea on a time frame. It is not perfectly round, in fact it has a few semi flat spots but is very smooth.
Any help on these would be greatly appreciated.
