Nice score on a cache of proof Kennedy's................

Put them on eBay. Group them in 25 or 50 coin lots.

Try grouping them in sets and sell them as "10 different proofs" etc. I have sold several that way for a small profit.

sold and shipped a 77-S Kennedy today for $2.29. less than book but there are buyers for proofs-- they do look awesome!!!

Final tally......57 proofs.
1971-2007. Only missing.
73,75,85,95,
Stupid question....does this mean someone broke open 57 proof sets. Or we're there proof single coins.?
Thanks

A couple of months ago I released two rolls of impaired proofs back into the wild. I'll be releasing another roll soon. :cat:

No single proofs are sold as it pertains to modern proof coins. They are only sold in sets. So yes, they were all cracked from their original government mint packaging.

follow up..
went to my local coin club where they have auctions
put 10 coins up various years and got $26 for my $5 investment...not too shabby...

That's not a bad deal. I would do that if I could. I'll have to look into a local coin club.

Hello All. It has been quite awhile since I have posted. I noticed a thread on "impaired proofs" so I thought I might chime in. I have probably 500 of those cameos circa 1971-2013. I have never--for what ever crazy reason--returned them to the wild--although I know I should have. Just like the 1987's--I just cannot part. Generally, I get batches upon batches of those cameos and cringe because of the lack of silver. Regardless, I still have 50 cents in savings for each one. Not a loss, but not a gain.

I think I will take D_D's advise and see if I can make a few bucks on Ebay.

Happy Hunting,
Apush

Hey there apush ! good to hear from you again - With this post I realize that I'm not sure which years the proofs were silver -
I was thinking that all the San Fran. mint marked proofs were silver- apparently not (back to school for me clearly )
take care friend .
