I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but your piece has nothing to do with a "well known bell ringer". Your piece was actually used by Paul D. Bagwell, who was a Republican that was running for governor of Michigan on two different occasions. The first time was in 1958, and then again in 1960. Hope that this clears the air on this piece.

A picture of the back may have helped ...maybe a clue. Most likely the politician Bagwell, since you found it in Mich. but until we find a match, we dont know for sure.
