Need help with another one

I found this in an area where I had found obsidian chips and a mano before. Obviously it was grooved by the hand of man, what was it? Found in gold country California. Thank you in advance!

Thanks Charl! I would never have guessed that. Something I have noticed that is strange is that the edges of the break seem to be smoothed as if it was worked with after the stone was broken but not much. If you look close in the side profile of the flat portion you can see what I'm talking about. Thanks for the info!
