Need help with Naval history

Think the Eagle is sterling. Soil is saturated with salt as its prone to flood. Found three silver coins the same day that we extremely corroded as well ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1421607678.569916.jpg

Nice. I like the look of the badge in its current condition. It took a long time to get that way! :)
