Found this today and was wondering how you can tell if its real, it has 2 markings on the ring one I think is the makers mark, but I can't make it out and the other looks like 925 but has a deep mark going across it. Is there a easy way to tell, thanks for any help.

if it has 925 then its silver and you can test silver with acid kit if your talking about that big piece of glass in the center looks like CZ to me but take it to jeweler they are more than glad to help.

Neat looking ring. I doubt that anyone could tell for sure if the stone is CZ or real just from a picture tho. I recall there being some kind of device that can be used to tell if the stone is CZ or real diamond, saw it in a magazine article.

This site looks good, I am not a jewelery or gem expert tho so feel free to form your own opinion.

I used to work on a diamond mine in Australia, and because of the size of that thing I sure hope for your sake it is a diamond but im doubting it. A jewler will gladly put his diamond tester on it for you, an electronic device that is actually quite reasonable to buy if you are going to be finding more of these things.....which I hope you do.
Having said that if he says its not a diamond but seems eager to buy it off you anyway, I would polietly refuse the offer and try another jewler....grins......good luck.

Thanks for the info I will take it to a jewler , and I am thinking it's not real but sure hope it is that would make my day, well happy hunting everybody and thanks for the info :hello:
