Found this on edge of corn field. Out in middle by a big lonely tree. Any ideas. Its thin and smooth.

Could be an old copper or perhaps a coat button?

Farmers usually left an old tree in the middle of a field for shade,, when they had lunch. Good place to look for lost stuff.
