Hello everyone. This item was found close to a home built in 1812. This item looks like it is copper or brass. It is the size of a tombac button, but it has this little spike on the back of it. On the front there is an image of what appears to be a skull and what looks to me to be a date under the skull of 17?? I can make out the 17 but the other numbers aren't very clear. If you have ever seen something like this please let me know. I am stumped.
