Took me an hour to clean up. had like an inch of rust on it! i think its from a gun. hoping its revolutionary war but i don't think so.

what "part" do you think it is -- a rear sight?

thats actually what i was thinking. i looked up a brown bess rifle and i dont see this part on them. gota look up a couple more guns and see what i could find.
