I found this thing bottle digging a few weeks back. I'm pretty sure it's LEAD.

It's a butcher supply advertising plate.
Is there some chemical I can soak it in to get rid of the rust? Other than CLR.

How about trying some Naval Jelly.
 
I've been digging for some since your post. All I've found was lint. I must be doing it wrong.
