Need symbol ID on this spoon like thing Solved: Trifid spoon 1680-1700ish

which may indeed be a spoon. Looks like the head of a spoon but not entirely sure thats what it is. In the curved part there is a mark or symbol with what appears to be writing around it that I cannot make out.

Any Ideas?

Edit: added a crude pic of what the symbol looks like, not sure the small lettering (if thats what it is) goes around the entire circle.

It's for sure a spoon! And a old one too. :thumbsup:

A very early form of the Trifid spoon the gilding showing through indicates a latten spoon rather than natures guilding. The remains of the touchmark appear to be from the left a letter T the a rack holding three spoons, two bowl upwards middle downwards a lovely little spoon makers mark. Dating this is not easy but possibly 1680-1700. 17.7cms long and weighs about 50 gms.

No prob. Buddy,Although it took awhile on this one I had to go through all my spoon info to find that mark but we got her. :wink:
