need tips on approaching church authorities for permission..

I will try to update as much as possible.The pastor stated he liked the way i demonstrated my technique and the way i dug and covered my holes.He said no one had ever asked before.I guess they thought like i did.That the answer would be no way.The church is only 40 years old.Don't know if i found a gold mine but sure i will find some things there.Its a nice complex has a basketball court and daycare center.That church is the glue that holds the area together.They feed the homeless/Have flea markets/music festivals/potluck diners/give out clothing and food boxes every onth to the needy and every 3 months a tractor trailer comes there on a saturday loaded with food and for 4 hours anybody can get a box of food no questions asked. They represent to me what a church should be.And iam just trilled to be the only one allowed to hunt there.

I've been doing churches for the past year now. The only one I have been denied to MD was the one time I picked up the phone and called. Talking face to face I haven't been denied one time. Just 2 weeks ago I stopped in a church around the corner from work. I saw a truck so I walked up and the door was open so I knocked and walked in. It was the Pastor. He gave me permission and after my first trip I only covered a quarter of the yard I found 2.35 in clad and went and thanked him personally. Turned out he is the nicest guy in the world. Loves to hunt and fish...I gave him 4 arrowheads to give to his children....blah blah blah....great experience. Church was built in 1906 and I can't wait to get back to it.

I never knew it would be so easy to get permission.I still say it was how i presented myself.

first off the preacher does not own the church or the property,
he is employed by the church go'ers to preach for them,
and earn $$ to keep the church going. (an entertainer)

However, most preachers think they are in charge unless
told the truth, so yes a Preacher is a good option.

you could also ask the person who mows the grass,

or anyone who is a member of a church women's group as a last choice.,

Beware though Church women can be unpredictable.

but if you approach the right ones you will get a "Yea I don't see no Problem"

others may say you need to attend a meeting, This should be last resort,
the ones with an opinion who will speak up, are the ones who need church Badly
but it doesn't seem to help

Just a little update.I had 30 minutes this evening went over to the church and found these coins.I think this area has potential.

I've been amazed at how positively I've been recieved by people I have asked, there is a lot of interest in this hobby even my doctor showed a great deal of interest.
