Need Your Help - A Civil War Whats-it!

We decided to check out a spot that has been metal detected numerous times before to see if we could find any Civil War relics left behind. A few minutes after searching, a couple of bullets appear and then a very weird and crazy find- A Civil War pistol-sized bullet with a screw in it. Was the soldier bored in the camp?

Possibly a small caliber muzzle loader rifle bullet that for whatever reason didn't fire, and they used a threaded bullet puller to remove the bullet, and that broke off after removal. ?

Exactly what I was thinking, I think you hit the nail on the head....or "screw" for that matter.. lol...ddf

maybe someone was attempting to make a early version of a hollow point bullet ---or it was a small bore rifle bullet that was "pulled" and the worm broke after pulling it out
