said we wouldnt find anything but nails, it seemed that we wouldnt find nothing but clad , which is all we have found in our yard, found a total of 61 cents but one of those was a 1924 merc ! and the wife found it . i thought she was trying to pull a good one on me, like when we go fishing she trys to make me think she got a big bite then i do the same to her , but this time she got herself , she said it was a dime 4 inches down , dug and seen something shiny made a fist to hind it and gave me that deer in the headlight look, so i said a pulltab wasnt it , she said nope this is really good so i gave her one of these >:( she looked back in her hand then she got all serious ! sure enough she had a 1924 merc !! i think we will go back some tommorow night ;) , her first merc looks like i'm still waiting on mine :'(

A Barber trumps a Merc any day, unless the Merc is a 16D or 21 anything. Just my opinion.

thanks halfdime ! just told the wife what you posted and boy did i get a look >:( but i sure did a dance when she found the merc to ;)

ok after we went back out didnt get anything great but did find 29 cents and a band of some kind , wife dug it and said she thought it was a ring of somekind at first but i think it might have been some kind of band for like water pipe but not sure, anyway here is the pics ;)

i believe you are right about the coin being on edge teverly , i didnt think about that but i think thats why i didnt see it till i picked it up and why both detectors didnt make a beep after the coin had been moved in the dirt, glad we didnt give up on it and kept looking ;)

After a few years of not detecting i grabbed the xterra today an headed out for a few hours :occasion14: Wifes been wanting to go again to , An while i was out i remembered the backyard find from years ago but couldnt remember exactly what we did find, So when i got home i thought Treasurenet !!! So i came here an found it :hello2: Looks like we will be heading out for some detecting tomorrow to !!! I'm back 8-)

Wow, those are some great silvers, Weez!
