I found out that there is "now" in effect, rules for detecting all Jackson County Parks. You have to get permission from the park director before detecting now. Pain in the butt. Seems that one lone detectorist ruined it for many here. Thats what I was told by the park director. >:(
 

Jim , thanks for the heads up on Jackson County parks. Are they going to issue permits for you guys. I see it happening more and more one or two folks are ruining it for others. Its more than just policing ourselves but we need to start with education for the new folks also. Keep us updated

I asked about that, permits that is. He said not at this time. Man, I like just going out whenever I get free time. Now I have to plan when I'm going and get permission. Pain.
