All Treasure Hunting
Hi everybody

I bought a Teknetics Delta 4000 back in Feb and I finally got to take it out for the very first time yesterday. Went to a beach
in NJ with my brother for the day. We spent about 4 hours roaming the beach, no specific search plan or destination. Here's
what we found:

1 - Toy car. Missing rear wheels.
3 - Pulltabs from different eras.
1 - Maryland state quarter
4 - Roosevelt dimes. 1968 - 2013. Nothing silver.
2 - Jefferson Nickels. 1977, 1990
18 - Lincoln Cents, 1966 - 2013 (The dates I can read). This is before cleaning any of them.

There were other pulltabs, quite a few beer and soda cans, some nails, and many various pieces of junk
metal we found that we did not bring home and I did not picture here.

93 cents worth of change, but boy I had fun. I definitely want to go do this again.

Nice finds all around. The delta 4000 is a great machine. I know the 58 for nickels and gold 14 k and pull tabs
But when you get solid 58 dig it.
Enjoy the hunts you have ahead with it. I have had mine for 4 years now. To me it is a very easily learned md and will find it if its there.

Welcome to the best hobby!

Dig and more dig and then if you doubt it dig some more....Great job!

Thanks. I am completely new to this, and I agree the Delta 4000 is very easy to use. Besides being so light. I did research it and bought it for those reasons.

The biggest issues I had were the headphones I was using. I used a cheap pair that go over the head. It got harder to keep them on as the day went on. I might use
earbuds next time. Aside from that, I didn't think the Lesche tool I bought would work well on the beach. And I didn't have a scoop. I ended up using a garden trowel
and a french fry basket pictured below. Not ideal and some of you might laugh, but it worked real well. Better in the dry sand, wet sand was a little harder to deal with.
If I am going to continue beach hunting (and I probably will) then I will need to invest in one of those long handled scoop tools.

Most of the heavily crusted pennies at the bottom of the photo are pretty bad. The copper clad has holes in just about all of them.

Not too bad for the first time out. Good coin haul. Can't wait to see more.

Your last sentence says it all...you had fun! That's what this hobby is all about. You got to dig a lot of targets Bill, any one of which could have been a gold or silver ring or a silver coin. Enjoy the ride!

Welcome to TNet BillW212.

Thanks for sharing the photos! Maybe think about getting plastic spaghetti/sand strainer and trowel. That way you can use your detector (or handheld pin-pointer) to find stuff a little faster.
When you start M.D.ing places with soil, you can scan each clump or scoop while holding a plastic trowel.

Good Luck

Fun............aint it

Hooked ain't the word !!! Good luck in future. keep sharing

I agree, more like addicted, welcome to the site and thanks for sharing your finds.

I agree also, it is so addicting. I dream about finding that one super find. I get mad on days I can't go because of work or th weather.

He he so true!! Although after a couple of days you feel your legs shaky is well worth it... Or maybe is the age? Lol

The anticipation of the hunt is almost as much fun as the hunt. Not every day is a "good" day. I get disappointed if I don't find at least one coin but never get discouraged enough to keep me from thinking about the "next " hunt as I am walking to my car. HH..!!

Nice finds! It's all about the fun! I am new as well ... Great luck to both of us.

Great find! I am liking the idea of the light weight sifter! The recommendation of a more durable plastic one sounds great ..... Plus it might keep others away as they will think it is a bit kooky :-)
